Immune System

What does your immune system do?

Your immune system is your body’s defense against infection and illness.

A healthy immune system …

  • recognises the cells that make up your body, and will try to get rid of anything unfamiliar; and
  • destroys germs (bacteria and viruses) and parasites.

But this defence system can also cause problems.

  • It will attack donated organs or blood from another person, unless carefully matched.
  • It may overreact to harmless invaders such as pollen grains, causing hayfever.
  • In some cases (autoimmune diseases), the immune system turns against the body’s own cells.
How does your immune system work?

Your immune system uses a huge army of defender cells — different types of white blood cells. You make about 1000 million of them every day in your bone marrow. Some of these cells, called macrophages, constantly patrol your body, destroying germs as soon as they enter.

This is your ‘natural’ or inborn immunity.

But if an infection begins to take hold, your body fights back with an even more powerful defence of T- and B-cells. They give you acquired immunity, so that the same germ can never make you as ill again.

How do cells recognise each other?

Each of your cells has a set of ‘identity tags’ on its surface, which mark it out as part of your body and no one else’s. Some are only found on cells from the same tissue or organ. These identity tag molecules are called antigens. Your set of antigens is unique, unless you have an identical twin.

A healthy immune system recognises invading germs because they have unfamiliar antigens on their surfaces.

Our current reality

In an ideal world what is required for wellness? Clean air, clean water, exercise, low stress, sufficient rest and proper nutrition. Right?

The truth is we live in a hostile environment. And it is taking its toll.

What do our wellness enemies look like? Toxins, chemicals and pollutants are a hidden reality for all of us. They are in our air, our water, our soil and our food. Often they are more prevalent inside our homes than outside. Obviously, we can’t live or daily lives in sterilised bubbles, but fortunately, we can support our bodies’ natural ability to flush out these toxic foreign substances.

The good news

Cells are the building blocks of the human body.

Healthy cells mean healthy tissues  Healthy tissues mean healthy organs  Healthy organs mean healthy bodies.

In other words, if all my cells are healthy, I’ll be healthy.

But, we all know that we don’t live in an ideal world. We can’t always control our environment, but we can get information in order to make the best possible choices.

The mixture

Mix 2 teaspoons (4-6 capsules) Ambrotose powder , 1 teaspoon FIRM Body Lotion (or Emprizone Gel or aqueous cream), and the powder of 4-6 SPORT capsules. You can later reduce it to 2 x Ambrotose capsules + 2 x SPORT capsules.

  • Apply heavily and wrap with plastic wrap to keep it from drying out.
  • Doing this nightly for two weeks is a fair trial. If you don’t see immediate results, continue with the Mud and also drink some SPORT capsules and Ambrotose for at least 6 months.

The body takes time to repair and heal itself. If desired results are not achieved after several applications, Freddie suggested using a heating pad on top of the Mud wrap. Use heat on and off at 20 minute intervals. He said he did not find ice useful for this application.
